Apostol Nicolae

    Born on the 16 th of june 1939 in the village of Berca, Buzau, Romania.

Graduate of the “Nicolae Grigorescu Fine Arts Institute” in Bucarest, Class of 1965, he settles after wards in Baia Mare – Maramures where he can be found even now, furthering his life’s work.

“I have studied Myths and Sacred Rituals. It is within them that, I have found traces, scentes of past myths and rituals, a typical atmosphere, which I sense with one of my other countless senses. I have lived in Maramures -Transylvaniaso as to forgo a journey into the past.

I craved the it’s air, in order to revive ancient mythology.” (Nicolae Apostol)

He regulary exhibits inRomania(1965, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1974,1975, 1977-1981, 1984,1985, 1989, 2001, 2003) and abroad:  London(1966) – “The XX-th Century it’s Artists exibition”;

Paris (1967) – “The International Biennal  – Graphics“;

Linz(1968) – “The International Graphics Exibition.”

Alexandriaand Santiago de Chile (1982);

Gyula (1982) – “Fine Arts Exibition – Painting, Sculpture, Graphics.”

Tunis,Moscow,Varsovia,Budapest,Szolnok(1992-1993).

He take part in personal exhibitions: 1965, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1992, 1993, 2000.

He achieves two monumental works of art (Al Fresco):

-“Mithology” 1967 (3,7 by 44 m).

-“The Falling of the Mith” 1967 (3,7 by 22 m).

And he has been awarded The Artist Union prize for graphics inRomania(1966).

 

Over one thousand works of art belonging to the artist are currently part of numerous art museumexhibitions as well as private collections – in country and abroad.
